Misdemeanor Cases In Gahanna, Ohio
The Gahanna Mayor’s Court has jurisdiction for misdemeanor cases that occur in the city limits of Gahanna. Most cases in this court are filed by the Gahanna Police Department, but some are also filed by other law enforcement agencies. This court does not have jurisdiction for second-offense DUI / OVI, or second-offense driving under DUI / OVI suspension or financial responsibility suspension. Court Procedures In The Gahanna Mayor’s Court
The court, located in the Gahanna City Hall building, is in session at 9:00 am every Thursday. When you arrive at the court, you should check-in at the Clerk of Court office and wait for your case to be called. At your first court appearance, the arraignment, you will be asked to plead either Guilty, No Contest, or Not Guilty. If you plead Guilty or No Contest, the magistrate will issue a sentence, and the case will be finished. If you plead Not Guilty, you will be given a date and time for another court appearance.
